The Gentle Southern Africa Journey

Arrive in Victoria Falls, where you're met and transferred privately to your lodge. After time to settle in, your first evening is spent on the Zambezi River with a sunset dinner cruise. The boat moves slowly, the river does the talking, and wildlife appears without being summoned. It's a gentle introduction — Africa, easing you in rather than announcing itself loudly.

After breakfast, travel by road to Hwange National Park. The drive is scenic and unhurried, with assistance throughout. Arrive at your safari lodge in time for lunch and a quiet afternoon. Wildlife often gathers at nearby waterholes, meaning your first safari sightings may happen without you leaving your chair.

Your full day in Hwange is dedicated to wide-open landscapes and relaxed game viewing. Morning game drives explore the park at a measured pace, with regular stops and no pressure to cover long distances. Hwange rewards patience — elephants, buffalo, and plains game move through naturally. Afternoons are free for rest before optional activities or simply watching the bush come alive again near camp.

After breakfast, return to Victoria Falls by road. This second stay feels different. You're no longer arriving — you're returning. The afternoon is free to relax, unpack fully, and enjoy the familiarity of your surroundings.

Your next morning features a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe side). Paths are well maintained, the pace is adjustable, and your guide handles both the storytelling and the timing. In the afternoon, you may choose to enjoy High Tea at the historic Victoria Falls Hotel — a calm, elegant pause with views of the spray in the distance.

Your final day here is intentionally open. You may explore town, rest at the lodge, or simply enjoy doing very little — which, on safari, is often the right choice. In the evening, enjoy the BOMA Dinner & Drum Show, a lively but well-paced cultural experience. Seating is comfortable, the atmosphere is warm, and early departures are always respected.

After breakfast, cross into Botswana with guided assistance and continue to Chobe. Following lunch at your lodge, head out on a Chobe River cruise — one of the most comfortable safari experiences available. Elephants gather along the riverbanks, boats drift quietly, and there's no need to stand or strain.

The next morning, a game drive offers a different perspective of Chobe, with large herds and excellent visibility. The afternoon is left completely free — by design. Safari is as much about rest as it is about wildlife.

Transfer to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight into the Okavango Delta — short, scenic, and surprisingly smooth. On arrival, you're welcomed to your lodge and given time to settle in. The Delta does not rush you, and neither do we.

Over the next days, choose how each unfolds: gentle game drives, slow mokoro (canoe) excursions, or quiet days at camp, watching the waterways shift with the light. There is no "right" way to experience the Delta. This is where many travelers realise that the moment they'll remember most isn't the animals, but the stillness between sightings.

On your final morning, enjoy a last view over the Delta before your light aircraft transfer connects you onward for international departure. You leave rested, not exhausted — which is exactly how a long journey should end.
